The PKD Page NZ CH Alamo Stolen Kisses Born 24th Dec 1997 died 10th August 2000 Winner of 14 Breeder awards of Merit, but more important my friend and buddy. Kissinger was found to have severe PKD, one of the worst cases Chris had ever seen in such a young cat. He never at any time showed any symptoms of this disease and it came as a great shock to all of us to learn he was positive. His death at the age of only two and a half years left a permanent scar, and because of him we make the following statement. ALAMO CATTERY is committed to breeding healthy kittens, and is working towards having only PKD negative breeding cats. While every breeder has to make their own decision, for us it is important to eliminate this dreadful disease from our cats. At great expense and with the help of a friend in Auckland, over time we are sending all our breeding stock to Auckland to be scanned and certified. The expertise of our wonderful vet, Dr Chris Warman at the Veterinary Specialist Group has guided us through some stressful times in the last couple of years (and there will no doubt be more to come) Slowly but surely we are moving forward to reach our goal.
